Did you know we sell other model train stuff?

In addition to our service, restoration, and resurrections Big Jack’s Trains has been quietly adding our own products to the hobby! We now offer period correct GLASS marker light rhinestones for Lionel locomotives in all three period correct colors: Emerald Green, Lime Green, and Oxblood Red. These are exact reproductions made in the Czech Republic that feature the proper gold leaf backing and number of facets. We got sick and tried of the poor quality, plastic, paint-backed products sold by other train vendors. Those “cheapos” either melt or fall out when glued into the markers as the paint is not properly bonded to the zinc. We also got pissed off by the effectively random colors. When we order the blue-spectrum, dark emerald green stones, we want those, not a random assortment of sizes and shades of green!

We also sell processed “coal” suitable for N, HO, and O Gauge. Ours is a recycled, manufactured silica product 2-4mm in size. At N scale it is straight-from-the-mine size. At HO it is processed scale, and at O-gauge it is “hand coal”. This is a realistic way to add detail and weight to those squirrely ore cars! It can also be painted, so can do multiple duty as other types of rock, iron ore, etc.

We also produce color correct, exact reproduction, peel-and-stick Lionel postwar Locomotive “smoke labels” which we produce in-house. Unlike the others selling the white lettered labels on cheap adhesive sheets, ours have the correct black on onion skin tones and are printed on permanent adhesive sheets.

We have a bit more work to do, but soon will offer both early and late style “oil labels” for rolling stock. We got tired of the very good, but “close” rather than correct labels on the market, so Johnny put that useless art degree to use and hand drew exact replicas. These will be offered as both convenient peel-and-stick AND period correct “paste on”.

Work continues on “Big Jack’s Restoration Manual” which currently has 400 pages featuring nearly 700 full color photos and hand-drawn diagrams. We hope this modern restoration guide will become the gold standard over those outdated books circulating.

Last, but not least, Johnny bought a stupidly expensive CNC laser cutter/engraver and has been cussing under his breath for weeks creating files from scratch. This will allow Big Jack’s Trains to offer EXACT reproduction fiber and phenolic collector plates for pancake motors, EXACT reproduction “heat stamping” for locomotives and rolling stock, and all sorts of of other difficult to find (or stupidly over-priced) parts.

You can find all this stuff on our eBay store!
